1. to break up the particles in (an emulsion) so that they are small enough not to separate. In homogenizing milk or cream, the fat globules are forced through narrow openings at high pressure, thus breaking the large globules insmall ones, which are distributed evenly throughout.
2. to make homogeneous; make similar or uniform: »
